John Cena appeared to be marching towards a record-tying 16th WWE championship reign at the blockbuster WWE pay-per-view (PPV) Summerslam on Sunday August 23, but he quickly had his momentum zapped by PPV host Jon Stewart.

The former Daily Show host took down the 38-year-old fitness icon with a chair shot and helped set up defending champion Seth Rollins to not only keep his belt, but also take the challenger’s United States title. Watch the interference for yourself here:

In the back-and-forth bout inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the pair exchanged blows for 15 minutes. One of the major highlights was Cena paying home to WWE Hall of Famer and current title record-holder of most title reigns Ric Flair by locking up the figure-four leg lock on Rollins. Rollins also used Cena’s finisher, the attitude adjustment, against him at one point.

There will undoubtedly be consequences — as there is after every major WWE PPV — on tonight’s episode of Raw live on the USA Network at 8 p.m. ET.
