Cross Chop to Knee

The cross chop to knee is a basic bodyweight exercise that increases balance while strengthening the core including the lower abdominals and hip flexors.

Instructions

  1. 1018_A
    Stand tall on one leg, bringing the other leg out to the side, toes touching the floor. Clasp your hands and bring them overheard on the same side as your standing leg.
  2. Cross Chop to Knee
    Then bring both hands in a chopping motion down towards your opposite side hip as you raise your knee. Return to starting position.

Trainer’s Tips

  • Avoid rounding your back.
  • The motion should be created by crunching your abs. Be sure to drive your knee and hands firmly together with each rep.
  • Don't overarch your lower back while in the standing position.
