QUESTION

If the lightweight division had a ceiling of 230 or 240 pounds, do you think you would eventually bump up against that, too?

 ANSWER

Moving the weight class once, as they did to 212, didn’t undermine its credibility, but continuing to move it around might. Let it remain. Two classes is a way of giving light-heavyweights a better chance to compete.

 QUESTION

That being said, what limit do you think would be an ideal weight for you to grow into?

 ANSWER

Maybe in the low 220s.

 QUESTION

How many hours of sleep do you try to get every night?

 ANSWER

On the one hand, I know eight hours is the ideal and best for your body. On the other hand, with a newborn [Adiena, now 5 months old], who is, after a few months, sleeping six to seven hours a night, I manage with about six hours a night. That seems to be enough.

 QUESTION

What sports do you follow?

 ANSWER

I’m a massive UFC fan. I’ve known [Anthony] “Rumble” Johnson a number of years, so I go to as many fights as possible. I got to hang out with him at the after-party when he fought Ryan Bader [at UFC on Fox 18]. Rumble finished him off in the first round. – FLEX
