Nyle DiMarco Wins 'Dancing With the Stars'

The model and activist nabs the Mirror Ball Trophy as the UFC's Paige VanZant takes runner-up.

Last night’s Dancing with the Stars finale showcased a tight competition between finalists Nyle DiMarco, Paige VanZant, and Ginger Zee—with DiMarco ultimately prevailing to become the new Mirror Ball champion.

DiMarco, who is also the first deaf winner in the history of Dancing with the Stars, achieved a perfect score of 30/30 for dancing a Cha-Cha/Tango fusion with partner Peta Murgatroyd. (Who just announced to People that she is 4 months pregnant with fiancé and fellow dancer, Maksim Chmerkovskiy!).

The runner-up duo VanZant and Mark Ballas also attained a perfect score for their Jive/Salsa fusion dance. (Watch their finale dance here.) Head judge Len Goodman lauded the UFC strawweight fighter's dancing skills, naming her “the best dancer of the season.”

Judge Bruno Tonioli commended DiMarco and Murgatroyd, stating that they had given Dancing with the Stars “the most memorable performances of season 22” and that DiMarco “exceeded expectations.”

VanZant told Good Morning America that she is excited to get back to UFC training.
