Towel Pullup

The towel pullup is a progression of the standard pullup that increases strength in the back, biceps, and forearms. The towels increase the use of the forearms to improve grip strength.

Instructions

    Loop a medium-sized towel around a pullup bar and firmly grasp both ends of the towel. Allow your arms to hang in a fully extended position.
  2. Towel Pullup
    Keeping your shoulders down and away from your ears, pull yourself up until your chin clears the bar. Pause, then slowly lower yourself to the starting position.

Trainer’s Tips

  • Keep your chest up and shoulders back.
  • Drive your elbows behind you to prevent pulling through your wrists.
