Set in China, the film will undoubtedly bring in a large segment of new fans to Johnson’s ever increasing base, and secure his legacy as the action star to take the torch from the great Arnold Schwarzenegger, according to Deadline’s recent commentary. A huge honor indeed.

“In the late 80’s and 90’s, Arnold was the most powerful movie star on the planet. And when I first broke into Hollywood 15 years ago, he welcomed me with open arms,” said Johnson. “Something I’ll never forget and will always appreciate. Honored by the comparison and I look forward to workin’ hard and taking the ‘brass ring’ to places its never been. Starting with #SKYSCRAPER.”

Clearly, both Hollywood and Johnson see the huge potential, not only with the Skyscraper deal, but with the new business partnerships as well. Here’s the Deadline piece recently posted on The Rock’s Instagram account.
