After teasing glimpses of a fight scene featuring Ben Affleck’s Batman, Justice League director Zack Snyder decided to give fans a brand new look at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman from the film.

Snyder, who was working hard in the editing bay on the Batman v. Superman follow-up (and on his birthday, no less), showed off a Twitter video of Momoa’s character, Arthur Curry, swimming up to what looks like a very powerful character:

The look of the underwater world here could also be a tease on how the look of the solo Aquaman film will be. Momoa trained with some major intensity to get prepped for Justice League and Aquaman, working on sword training and fight choreography. He hit the gym pretty hard too:

But Snyder’s birthday wasn’t all that bad—he got a shoutout from Wonder Woman herself, as actress Gal Gadot shared a picture of the Justice League director behind the scenes:

Justice League, directed by Snyder and starring Gal Gadot, Momoa, Henry Cavill, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher, will be released November 17, 2017.

Aquaman, directed by James Wan and starring Momoa, Amber Heard, and Patrick Wilson, is set to hit theaters on October 5, 2018.
