The alternating Swiss ball dumbbell shoulder press increases strength and stability of the shoulder muscles on each side of the body. This exercise also actively engages the core.
Sit tall on a Swiss Ball with your feet flat on the floor. Hold a dumbbell in each hand with your arms bent and the weights outside your shoulders with your palms facing forward.
Brace your abs and press one dumbbell over your head until your arm is completely straight, keeping the other dumbbell stationary. Return the dumbbell to the starting position to repeat on the other side.
Avoid leaning to one side or the other. Keep the spine straight.
