This weekend the IFBB returned to Canada and did so in a big way. The Toronto Pro Supershow went off without a hitch as over 90 IFBB Pros in seven different divisions took the stage over two days. Friday crowned champions in fitness, bikini, and women’s bodybuilding (click here for results & galleries). Tonight the business at hand was the finals for figure, 202, and open men’s bodybuilding.

The show began with the pro figure awards as 20 stunning ladies took the stage with only three Olympia qualifications available. Taking the first place trophy back to Florida is Gen Strobo. With capped delts and a tiny waist, Strobo grabbed her first pro win. Second went to Candice John and third to Ann Titone. For both ladies, this is their first Olympia qualification.

The 202& under class was wide open, as none of the 10 competitors had ever won a pro contest. This was a chance for someone to make a name for himself and that’s just what Shaun-Joseph Tavernier did. Tavernier out-muscled a shredded Myoba Edwards who took second. Isreal’s Amit Sapir placed third.

The show wrapped up in grand fashion with the open men’s finals. This year the finals count for 50% of the score, but that didn’t matter to Craig Richardson. The New Jersey native was in near perfect condition both Friday and Saturday. After 11 years as an IFBB pro, Richardson got his first pro victory and did it with unanimous firsts from the judges.

In second, Lionel Beyeke had the size and shape, but he just wasn’t tight enough to beat Richardson. With a slight improvement in condition, this guy will be tough to beat in any show.

Third place and the final Olympia qualification of the night went to Brandon Curry. He edged out Frank McGrath, who made a successful comeback after some injuries kept him off the stage. McGrath made up ground on Saturday with his conditioning, but Curry’s massive upper body was still too much and he held onto third. Rounding out the top 5 was Robert Piotrkowicz.

The Toronto Pro Supershow was a great event all around and we look forward to an even bigger and better edition in 2012!
