Incase you weren’t in the mood to get out of bed today, your excuse is no longer valid. Davina McNaney, a breast cancer survivor ran 62 miles in 14 hours this past weekend. 

McNaney was always a long distance runner, but turned her passion into a way to bring awareness to breast cancer. She raises money when she runs through donations and fundraisers. According to people.com, “This year alone, she’s run a total of 1,357 miles and raised $4,742”.

McNaney who was up and running 3 months after her double mastectomy has given women with breast cancer across the world inspiration with her enduring positive attitude. She also wants women to be proactive and consistently take preventative measures, “I’d wake up in the middle of the night and think about the people who weren’t getting mammograms,” she added, “I had a nagging feeling that I could encourage people and inspire people”
