The 2013 America’s Strongest Man, presented by MHP, will Mark The 5th year that the American Strongman Corp will be part of the Mr. Olympia weekend. This show is going to blow the roof off the Las Vegas Convention Center!

2013 MHP America's Strongest Man

“With five athletes coming directly from the World’s Strongest Man to compete in the America’s Strongest Man at the Mr. Olympia, this will be one of the greatest strongman contests ever!” said Mike Johnston, vice-president of the American Strongman Corp. (ASC). “This is the kind of show a promoter dreams of. Competing this year is the defending America’s Strongest Man, the current World’s Strongest Man, two Arnold Classic Strongman champions, and a hungry host of competitors looking to make their mark against the top guys. This show has it all and the fans are going to love it!”

Once again, the ASC will provide entertainment, drama and amazing feats of strength unlike anything that has been seen in the halls of the Mr. Olympia before. Visit Booth #215 at the Olympia Expo in the Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall to see the action. Here is a breakdown of what fans and spectators can expect:

Day 1 – Friday, Sept. 27

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM:
MHP Amateur Strongman Fan Experience (Open to all fans and spectators of the Mr. Olympia event).

1:00 PM: MHP Presents 2013 America’s Strongest Man (ASM)

1:15 PM: Last Man Standing Log Clean & Press – American record holder Robert Oberst will be there to defend his 445-lb. mark. But he will have some tough adversaries to contend with, including 2012 Arnold Strongman Champion Mike Jenkins, Dallas Europa winner Mike Caruso and rookie Dimitar Savitinov.

2:15 PM:
MHP Super Yoke – Mike Jenkins is the favorite here, but watch out for ASC Record holder Nick Best and top ASC professional Andrew Palmer.

3:00 PM: Giant Wheel Barrow Load and Carry – This is a first time event at ASM and the Olympia. Watch speedsters Palmer, Jenkins, ASC record holder Marshall White and Matt Dawson on this one.

4:00 PM: Atlas Stone Carry & Load – This one favors WSM champ Brian Shaw, but don’t sleep on Jacob Bodi. He is a master with the stones.

Day 2 – Saturday, Sept. 28

10:00 AM – 11:30 PM:
MHP Amateur Strongman Fan Experience (Open to all fans and spectators of the Mr. Olympia event).

12:00 NOON:  MHP Presents 2013 America’s Strongest Man

12:15 PM: Keg Clean & Press Medley – The kegs tend to favor thicker guys with short arms and unconventional pressing styles. Tomas Rodriguez could be one to watch.

1:00 PM: Old “Skool” 750# Deadlift for Reps – Obviously, monster puller and WSM Brian Shaw is the man to beat here, but don’t sleep on the “Milkman” Carl Foemmel.

2:30 PM: Giant Farmers Walk – This event has Nick Best or current America’s Strongest Man Mike Burke written all over it.

3:30 PM: Suicide Medley – Andrew Palmer is unbeaten in this event, except for last year when he suffered a broken ankle. Look for him to repeat, with a strong push from Mike Jenkins.

There will also be a MHP supplement package raffled throughout the weekend with all raffle funds going to support Bre Hatfield, current ASC athlete Van Hatfield’s daughter, as she continues her fight with bone cancer.
