During a recent web chat with an English tabloid to promote The Last Stand (currently playing in theaters stateside), Arnold confirmed that he will reprise his role in the Terminator franchise and that some serious work is being done on the fifth installment.

“They’re writing right now Terminator 5. There have been some writers on it for the last year-and-a-half and they could not pull it off,” said the 65-year-old, according to The Sun.

“We have told them over and over that they are going in the wrong direction, now they’ve finally got rid of those writers and they’ve got new really quality writers.

“Now they’re going in the right direction. I think this year the script will be finished and we will be able to go into pre-production.”

In the web chat he also confirmed that scripts for Conan and Twins II are in the works. Arnold was in good humor during his promotional trip to London, and he credited his daily training regimen with giving him the energy to return to his busy acting schedule with such gusto.

“I am lucky that I am exercising every day so I can walk on the set and do the stunts and not feel like I am out-of-shape or too old.

“When I did this movie (The Last Stand), I did all of the stunts and I had great time working. I rehearsed and I am a fanatic about reps. I like to do things over and over, which I learnt from sports, and it all went well. Right now I can do all the stunts and that is why we are doing another Conan movie.”
