It’s back! Another NFL season and another series of Hard Knocks is upon us. The latest series begins this week as HBO goes back inside the locker room of the Cincinnati Bengals, a team that was first featured before the start of the 2009 season. The Bengals join the Cowboys as the only teams to be featured twice on the no-holds-barred show that gives viewers front row seats to all the on and off field drama that unfolds during training camp.

Veterans getting their marching orders, rookies trying to make the cut, and players vying for starting places have long been staples of the show, as has been the narration of Liev Schreiber, who has talked us through the travails of pre-season in all but one of the series to date. We know that NFL players are working hard before training camp, but this series sometimes reveals those who have not come into camp ready for the hard slog of getting into game shape.

Who will provide this season’s Rex Ryan “let’s go eat a goddamn snack” moment? Make sure to tune in and check out all the on and off-field drama – and let us know if you see any interesting training techniques or drills. Until then, check out the trailer for the new series:
