Wolverine is about to face his reckoning.

Keen-eyed comic book fans have been able to piece together some of the plot of Logan, which will likely be Jackman’s final appearance as Wolverine, thanks to the trailer and the frequent teases from actor Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold over the past year. As the nerd-verse likely surmised, the movie will probably follow the “Old Man Logan” arc from the comics, with an old and weary Wolverine looking to survive in an apocalyptic wasteland. His mentor, Professor X (Patrick Stewart), would be part of the story, as would Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook), the bionic-armed villain who hunts down mutants.

Now, fans don’t have to guess anymore.

Over the weekend, we finally got our first official synopsis of Logan courtesy of Jackman himself—and it’s either a dutiful retelling of “Old Man Logan,” or a terrible Spring Break vacation for everyone’s favorite X-Men characters:

The first trailer for the film was simply epic—Johnny Cash score, haunting visuals, a somber but outraged Wolverine—and that’s why it made our list of the 20 films we are pumped to see in 2017. Jackman is holding nothing back for his (probably) final appearance as Wolverine, showing off some of the intense training on Instagram that got him shredded for the role.

With the release getting closer, Mangold has continued to tease out some looks at the film, including new photos of the main characters, as well as a peek at the score of the film:

Wolverine looking weary:

Professor X struggling to get by:

Laura Kinney, the mysterious girl with powers like Wolverine’s, whom Logan is tasked with protecting:

And an awesome bit of music from the film:

Logan, directed by James Mangold and starring Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, and Eriq La Salle, will be released on March 3, 2017.
