Lying Straight Leg Raise

The lying straight leg raise builds strength and stability in the lower back, hips, and core.

    Lie on your back on the floor with legs stretched straight.
  2. Lying Straight Leg Raise
    Raise one leg as high as you can, keeping it straight throughout. Return it to the floor in a controlled manner.

Trainer’s Tips

  • Keep your leg as straight as possible during the movement.
  • Avoid using momentum to get your leg up. Perform each rep in a slow and controlled fashion.
  • Keep feet flexed.
  • Keep the lower back in contact with the floor throughout the movement.
