Q: My girlfriend goes through my things and reads my e-mail, even though I’ve never cheated on her. I want her to trust me. What should I do?

A: You may never have cheated on your girlfriend, but are you doing anything that might raise red flags for her? For instance, do you regularly chat on the phone or hang with women who are “just friends”? Friendships with the opposite sex can easily send an insecure woman into sleuth mode. So first make sure you aren’t unintentionally doing anything that is tweaking her insecurity.

Then make it very clear that her invasion of your privacy will not be tolerated. If she continues to snoop, decide whether you want to spend the rest of your days with Nancy Drew, then make your move accordingly.
