Jessica Anderson, Mindi Smith and Kris Murrell take overall honors at the ’09 NPC Nationals

Not a bad end-of-the-year run for new figure pro Mindi Smith. First, Smith won overall at the NPC Sacramento on November 7th, next she took overall at the 2009 NPC Nationals earning her pro card in the process.
“This was my first national show and it worked out perfectly,” Smith said. “I’ve put in a lot of hard work and dedication to get here, plus I work a full-time job; it was overwhelming for me, but I did it.”
In the bikini class, budgeting time to train while serving in the Navy full time has paid off for new IFBB Pro League Bikini competitor Jessica Anderson.
Anderson, the first-ever overall winner in the bikini class at the NPC Nationals, now gets the prestigious honor of being flown to Los Angeles for a photo shoot with the potential to land on the cover of Muscle & Fitness Hers magazine.
“I wasn’t expecting this at all,” she said. “I made first callout and was moved around to where I thought I would place fourth or fifth… And now I’m just looking forward to competing in the IFBB.”
