Brian Robinson knows how to get a date. In fact, he has gone on 500 dates with various women he has met on the New York City subway. In his new book, How to Meet Women on the Subway, Robinson details exactly how he has picked up so many beautiful women, and we boiled down the top five things you could learn from the guy who has no fear of the dating game.

1. Ask for directions

Robinson says that the best way to strike up a conversation (especially in New York City) is to ask for directions: “I would sit next to beautiful women and say ‘Is this train local or express?’ and then say ‘I hear an accent: where are you from?’ because 97% percent of all NYC women are from someplace else. No matter what place she says, say, ‘Wow, I’ve always wanted to visit your country/city, etc…do you have email?'”

2. When you’re standing on the platform, do NOT look at her

The most important thing is that she doesn’t think you’re a creep. Robinson says that if you appear to be too interested, she will just think you’re another guy with an agenda.

3. Wear a suit

By dressing your best, it communicates, “strength and security, and makes women think you have a J-O-B, even if you’re living with mom,” says Robinson.

4. Don’t ask her out during rush hour

Robinson says that rush hour is the worst time to talk to women because they are at the height of emotional annoyance, and “ready to slug you if you say the wrong thing.”

5. Practice the Subway 60

Don’t text or call her right away. Robinson usually waits “60 hours once you have her number.” It keeps her on her toes and it will throw her off if she doesn’t hear from you immediately.
