Shoshana Roberts, an aspiring actress, volunteered for an experiment by Hollaback! (An International movement to end street harassment) in which she walked up and down the streets of New York City for ten hours. During that time she experienced 108 catcalls–not counting dozens of whistles. That works out to about one catcall every six minutes.
