Squat, Plank, Pushup

The squat, plank, pushup is a combination of exercises performed as one for a total body warm-up. This allows very quickly to provide blood flow to all of the major muscle groups, and will increase your heart rate–two essential components of a good workout.

Instructions

  1. 6114_A
    Stand with feet shoulder width apart and toes pointed outward. Descend your hips until your thighs are parallel to the ground and place your hands directly in front of you on the floor.
  2. Squat, Plank, Pushup
    Jump the legs back so that you're in a full plank position. Keeping the elbows tucked close to the torso, descend into a pushup until your chest touches the ground. Then jump your feet forward to return to the squat position.

Trainer’s Tips

  • Keep your back as flat as possible throughout the movements.
  • Avoid letting your knees collapse inward during the standing up portion of the drill.
  • Keep your elbows close to your sides while lowering into the pushup position.
