6 Reasons Why Arnold Should Be on Game of Thrones

Spoiler: He Lifts

No disrespect to Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson — have you seen how strong ‘Thor‘ is? Of all the heralded Game of Thrones characters, he’s the closest to having actual superpowers. That said, Arnold’s first major movie role as Conan the Barbarian cemented him as a proven warrior, fit to fight and thrive in the Game of Thrones world. Here’s a few reasons why we’d take the Austrian Oak over the Mountain any day.

He Holds the Throne of Gains

Have you seen Conan the Barbarian? Arnold in 1982 could easily stack up against any character in Game of Thrones, yes, even the Mountain. He had a kick ass throne, he was built like Hercules and had a great head of hair to match. Jon Snow, who?

He’s Versatile

Any GoT fan knows that George R.R. Martin isn’t shy about killing off characters. If you’re going to survive in his world, you need be resourceful. No “red wedding” would have claimed Conan. He knows his way around swords, axes, spears and giant hammers. If he doesn’t have those, he could always use his bare hands — we’d give him the benefit of the doubt.

He’s Self-Reliant

“And if you do not listen, then to Hell with you!” Though Conan prays to Crom, he also curses the deity if he is ignored. Conan fights his own battles, a useful trait when you’re trying to not be betrayed.

He Can Handle a Dragon or Two

From monsters (Dagoth) to wizards (Thulsa Doom), Conan has had his fair share of battles. Though he hasn’t had to kill a White Walker or match up with Daenerys’ dragons, we think Conan would be up for either task.

He’s Self-assured

Conan is a born leader on a mission to avenge his father’s death. His confidence and focus make him an easy fit in Westeros or King’s Landing.

He’s Gotten Better With Age

Like Conan, the older Arnold got, the more powerful he became. From child to warrior, Conan gained strength  with age. Though the real Arnold hasn’t had to fight a dragon, he’s still lived his own heroic journey. From bodybuilder to movie star to Governor of California, Arnold only got better, staying fit all the way through.  At 67 years old, he’s still in great shape.
