It was an emotional evening at WWE Raw in Seattle on Monday night when Daniel Bryan, who grew up two hours away in Aberdeen, Washinton, called time on his wrestling career. Earlier on Monday, he posted this tweet to confirm that he was stepping away from wrestling:

Bryan elaborated more on the reason behind his decision, saying: “Within the first five months of my wrestling career, I’d already had three concussions. For years after that, I would get a concussion here and there, or here, or there, and it gets to the point when you’ve been wrestling for 16 years that it adds up to a lot of concussions. It gets to a point where they tell you that you can’t wrestle anymore.”

Bryan went on to say that he recently took a test the he said revealed “that maybe my brain isn’t ok as I thought it was.”
