Last weekend, the Los Angeles Convention Center played host to the season’s first big show — the 2009 Ironman Pro. Thousands of bodybuilding fans flocked to the freebie-laden Fit Expo and rubbed triceps with some of the sport’s biggest names, including reiging Mr. O Dexter Jackson and former two-time Olympia champ Jay Cutler. On stage, Silvio Samuel laid waste to a deep field of competitors for the win, but it wasn’t even that close.

But it’s away from the bright lights and bustle of the crowded Expo Hall that truly defines a big show weekend. From pre-judging pump-ups to candid moments amongst competitors, the backstage action is truly priceless.

Snake your way through the Expo and take a step behind the black curtain with Team FLEX for this all-access look at the 2009 Ironman Pro.
