Common sense tells us that man-made foods containing chemicals aren’t as healthy or safe as natural foods. This is a reasonable guideline, and Muscle & Fitness readers would do well to follow it. But research regarding artificial sweeteners is confusing. Are they dangerous chemicals or a fortunate alternative to sugar that can let us have our cake and eat it too – literally – without risking fat gain?
