What's CNS priming, and should a nonathlete like me worry about it?

- Jimmy T., Mesa, AZ

A: Central nervous system priming is when you prepare your type II muscles to move, which, before an exercise like a deadlift or a squat, can result in a high level of performance.

Try jumping rope, slamming a medicine ball, hopping, or any other ballistic movements before lifting weights
