Gym Flirting 101

A Training Taboo

Remember how easy it was to flirt in college?Everyone was filtered for you; the people were your age, they had similar interests, and most of us were in OK shape. It’s no wonder that temptation can be so strong when we head to the gym. We spend a ton of time there and the women are, well, fit! It’s the ultimate place to put your pick-up game to the test, the only problem is that so many men have given the practice a bad name. We spoke to several female fitness fanatics who gave us the rundown on what works best. Listen up and you could score a hot date for next weekend.SEE ALSO: America’s Hot Girls of the Gym >>

Don’t: Stare at Her

It’s evident that any girl at the gym has a nice body — that’s kind of the point. She might have really great form on her deadlift, but if you stare you will get caught and things can get awkward fast. It’s one of the fastest ways to send her running off to a different corner of the gym.SEE ALSO: Hottest Gym Girls on Instagram >>

Do: Smile at Her

If she’s crossing your path over to the dumbbells, just throw a friendly smile. Flashing those pearly whites is an easy way to show interest and could actually make her want to talk to you, that’s always a solid first step. Fair warning: if her headphones are in it’s probably a no-go.SEE ALSO: The 10 Most Attractive Body Parts Ranked by Women >>

Don’t: Comment on Her Body

Plain and simple: no innuendos. That means you should refrain from saying something like, “You look like you’ve been working your glutes.” Say that and you’ll be walking around the gym with a “creep” label and possibly a handprint across your face.SEE ALSO: 7 Workout Routines for Better Sex >>

As an answer to the last prompt, you don’t have to make stuff up. You both have at least one similar interest — the gym. Conversation over cool lifitng gloves, headphones, or running shoes can get warm receptions. Man Screaming With Dumbbells

Don’t: Grunt

Grunting through a heavy set just isn’t a good look. We know, training comes first and sometimes you need to get audible to push through a set. That said, there’s a fine line between staying in your zone and being an attention-hungry tool. The reality: if she’s checking you out while you’re attempting to lift a heavy object, she’s glancing at your muscles, not the weight.SEE ALSO: Strongman Sex Positions to Make Her Climax Tonight >>

Workout gear

Do: Dress to Impress

We know you’re there to work out and not strut down the aisle while doing lunges. That said, a ratty gym-shirt and smelly gym shorts won’t help your cause if you decide to make a pass during your break. Take an honest look at what you’re wearing to the gym and ask yourself, “Would I want to talk to someone dressed like me?”. If the answer is no, it might be time to stock up on some fresh clothes — think of it as an investment.SEE ALSO: The Muscular Man’s Guide to Style >>

Personal trainer

Don’t: Correct Her

Initiating contact by offering to correct her form means game over. No one likes a meathead, especially a know-it-all meathead. And trying to impose on someone’s workout may only make her more self-conscious. The only time you should be offering help is if she’s doing something glaringly wrong — putting herself at risk for an injury.
