How did you get started in fitness and Team Performix?

I started competing in bodybuilding in 2009 and went pro at NPC/IFBB USAs winning the overall championship in men’s physique. After placing top 10 at the 2014 Olympia I tried the Performix products and was hooked. I also felt like I represented their image and I was blessed to be contacted about sponsorship during my last deployment to Kuwait and Iraq.

How are you driven in fitness and in life?

I’ve always been driven in life, starting with my family. I have two daughters who were taken out of the country and I’ve been working on getting them back. I’m now married with a son and I’m still a U.S. Marine and IFBB Pro athlete. I take everything with a level of pride, honor, and seriousness with a little fun here and there. What’s life if you can’t enjoy it? I’m always working to improve myself for my family and to help others.

What advice can you give to our fans who are just starting out or looking to get back to the gym?

Focus on fundamentals and gradually increase weight over time. You also want to ensure that you have balanced meals throughout the day to support your training and your goals.

If you had to pick only three exercises, what would they be?

  • Incline Bench Press
  • Barbell Shoulder Press
  • Bent Over High Rows
